Meditation Glasgow
Meditation Classes Glasgow
Meditation is an integral part of the system of yoga with many physical, emotional and psychological benefits. Pól began a daily practice of meditation in the summer of 2007 after he attended a 10 day silent meditation retreat at a centre in Hertfordshire. Over the following years, he returned back to the centre to complete a total of three 10 day silent retreats. This helped him attain a deeper understanding and practice of meditation. With his combined comprehension of yoga, pranayama and meditation, Pól created a simple format to instruct meditation providing the greatest gains for his students. Pól offers a fusion of simple meditation techniques, breathing exercises (pranayama), guided visualisation, imagery and relaxation techniques.
Meditation & Shamanism
In 2004 Pól commenced studies within Shamanism. This ancient system uses a shamanic meditation technique known as journeying. After two years of training, he gathered a variety of shamanic skills, one of which enables him to facilitate shamanic journeys for others. Shamanic journeys in conjunction with certain breath techniques, bring about similar states of consciousness to those attained within deep meditative practices.
Meditation & Druidism
Since childhood Pól has been fascinated with ancient Gaelic & Druidic cultures. The word Druid is from the ancient word Dryd. Pól was born and raised in the beautiful lands of Fermanagh, in the northern province on Erin. He spent his childhood visiting ancient sites and learning from his knowledgeable primary school teacher and Druidic guide. Stories of healing springs, fairies, sacred mounds, granite round towers, carved stones and caves strangely sat within his modern culture, never seeming to surrender to the eternally encroaching future. At that time there was less of an interest with knowledge of the indigenous ancient systems; some would say intentionally buried or lost. Pól’s enquiring and curious nature led him into decades of rewarding studies into those ancestral practices. Like Shamanism, Druidic practices also use the breath, and meditative & journeying techniques. Pól has fused all of these ancient and modern meditative practices and techniques into what he describes as Shamanic Savasana & Meditation. The class runs one Friday per month from 6:00 – 7:00pm.
